At a landscape, or in this case, ‘pondscape’ scale; our aim is to restore some ponds so that they are open and leave others which are overgrown and at a later successional stage. By planning at the ‘pondscape’-scale we can create the maximum different number of habitats for different types of wildlife and hence increase the amount of biodiversity in our rural lowland farmland.

Open farmland ponds dotted across the landscape with their still waters reflecting the evening sunlight.
